Anger Management Education Program

The Anger Management Education Program (AMEP) is a program for offenders dealing with violent or aggressive behaviors. Referrals come mostly from the Harvey County Court System, but OVM can also accommodate self-referrals. The program is typically a condition of probation for those who have committed offenses, but it can also be utilized for those who have not committed offenses, or simply as a facilitated method for “making things right.”

Program Objectives

Help offenders take responsibility for their actions by encouraging honest truthtelling and ownership of their behaviors, and to help them realize how their actions hurt their victims, the community, their families, and themselves. Help offenders clearly understand the negative consequences that would affect their immediate and future opportunities should they continue these patterns. Promote new self-understanding and awareness by encouraging attitude and lifestyle improvements.

You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.

Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured.
